Multiple Opportunities – can be filled in Rosslyn, VA; Dulles, VA; Ft Wayne IN; or El Segundo, CA Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems - Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) EW Electronic Protect Department is seeking talented and collaborative System Engineers to help deliver emerging and disruptive solutions to ensure warfighter advantage. The selected candidate will be given opportunities to engage in a variety of cutting edge and innovative technology development across the Advanced Concepts & Technology (ACT) business area. Major activities within the group include working on Distributed Systems, Autonomy and Autonomy Algorithms, Mathematical Modeling, Simulation Development, Trade Studies and Data Analysis. As a member of this team, you will provide Distributed Battle Management, Command and Control (BMC2) expertise across multiple programs and advise on the development of synchronization of resilient architectures and acquisition systems. Selected candidate will also work on the development of innovative solutions for manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T). The candidate will have an opportunity to work on technologies that can help accelerate and expand the use of semi-autonomous unmanned air systems teamed with manned tactical aircraft; will develop and demonstrate a prototype flexible, open, and assured architecture for manned-unmanned teaming - including developing architecture that will enable rapid addition, modification, and replacement of mission systems and semi-autonomous behaviors. Additionally, you will work on innovative frameworks and architectures that permit quick and effective hardware and software integration between various platforms and payloads; provide working demonstrations of multiple UAVs cooperating semi-autonomously in actual flights to achieve mission objectives consistent with human-machine teaming ; and be responsible for providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers working on BMC2 systems. Required Skills: Minimum 8 years related experience with Distributed Battle Management/C2, Collaborative Autonomy or Multi-Agent systems. Strong background with Knowledge Representation, Estimation Theory, and Planning and Control Methods. Technical breath and operational background in warfighting platforms with an emphasis in C2 / BMC2, Communications, military operations. Must have knowledge and experience in two or more of the following: Track/Information Fusion, Modeling and Simulation, Operations Analysis, Distributed or Non-distributed battle management systems, UAV flight operations, Air Vehicle integration, Military C2/BM operations (SEAD/DEAD, ISR, etc) Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance Desired Skills: Experience addressing complex technical and operational issues Experience in developing CONOPs for operational systems Knowledge and understanding of air, space, cyber, Information Operations, and Integrated Air Missile Defense Systems to fuse platforms’ capabilities into a cohesive C2 architecture. Strong background in Airborne Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, and Physics. Strategic thinker with the ability to solve complete problems as part of a dynamic, distributed team environment as well as capable of working with minimal direct supervision Ability to successfully thrive in programs with aggressive delivery schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously Software Development in Java and/or (C/C++ preferred or MATLAB) Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Desired Education: Master’s / Ph.D degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
